A friend and I took a train ride across the border yesterday to Malmö, Sweden and decided that while we were there we absolutely had to get real Swedish meatballs. We googled the best place to get them and went to a restaurant called Bullen, that came up time and time again on google and trip advisor. They were veal meatballs with a delicious gravy and a side of mashed potatoes and lingonberries, which I’d only ever had in the IKEA cafeteria. The dish was pretty straightforward, but everything was perfectly done and delicious. It kind of felt reminiscent of Thanksgiving with the meat, gravy, mashed potatoes, and berries all together.
